LABRADOR is now hiring 2 to 3 Engineers for a Test/Project Engineer position with a great medical device company in the St. Paul area.

Some knowledge of medical device or aerospace regulations is a plus but if you are a new BSEE grad, please apply!
In this position, you will be responsible for the following: – Independently conduct on and off-site evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable standards.
Perform testing of products for our Medical clients, including writing reports.
Perform testing of products in accordance with standards, including Medical Device Safety Standards IEC 60601-1 2nd/3rd Edition.
- Develop and set up test plans.
- Conduct product safety testing and evaluation on medical equipment.
- Extract and compile engineering data.
- Prepare technical reports.
- Communicate project status and test results to clients, sales personnel, and management throughout testing; providing on-going support to clients as needed.
- Work with sales, operations and business line management to grow the medical business.
- Supply information for quotes such as length of project, site needed, rental equipment, samples, and standards that will be used.
- Provide on-going support to clients and travel to client sites to perform testing when needed.
- Senior Project Engineers are responsible for complex projects, providing local expertise in one or more product categories, and mentoring and training less senior technical personnel.The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: – Bachelors degree in engineering.
- Directly related hands-on testing experience, including experience testing or servicing medical electrical equipment (eg X-rays, CT, medical beds, Patient Monitoring, Surgical and Patient Care equipment).
- Demonstrated experience with medical standards for safety, most critically the entire 60601-1 series (UL/CSA/IEC), and CB Scheme are a plus.
- Experience studying, analyzing and referencing technical standards for product safety testing is a plus.
- Exceptional project management skills for complex projects.
- Ability to mentor and train.
- Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters.
- Excellent communication skills, in both verbal and written formats.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking client-driven environment.
