Great Item – If it worked or Sony supported their products
This camera has nice features for its size, very compact and offers good resolution and options. The startup time for power up is very fast. Unfortunately the camera I received new in the box does not focus properly, so all of the pictures I take are blurry. I followed Sony’s directions for repair, sent it in and a week and a half later received the camera back with the exact same problem thanks to Precision Camera Repair. I called Sony again for the same problem and had to fight with them to have them pay for shipping of the defective item. I may have to wait up to 10 days to receive a UPS shipping label from Sony. It’s been a month since I originally purchased the item and await a shipping label to send it back for repair the 2nd time.
My mistake was purchasing a discontinued product from a company that does not have a supported return policy for defective products and dealing with a manufacturer that doesn’t support their products directly, but through authorized service centers. Be certain to order any Sony products from a company that will accept a defective return, because you really don’t want to deal with Sony unless you don’t mind waiting several months to use the products you purchase.

Plastic Welder worked great for me.
I bought this plastic welder to try to repair the bumper cover on my mercedes e55. my bumper was torn about 18″ running horizontally across the bottom of the bumper and my fog light housing was cracked from top to bottom. my bumper was in bad shape. the body shop wanted $600 to repair and repaint the bumper and wouldn’t guarantee their repair and bondo. they wanted to rivot a piece of sheetmetal or hard plastic to the rip and use filler to smooth it out. i actually didnt have to use any kind of filler, i melted extra plastic and shaved the excess down…. the mercedes dealer wanted $1200 for a new bumper cover and then painting it was extra… i decided to take a chance and repair it myself. i watched the dvd and scanned the book real quick and got to work. i had my dremel tool ready, shaved and cleaned the edges as per instructions. i used strips of that stainless steel mesh and the long plastic melting rods, melted it into the plastic and sanded the excess plastic off to blend into the bumpers finish..once the joints cooled off i pulled and twisted the repair and it was very very strong, actually i was amazed how it fused the plastic back to its original shape…i then took my bumper to a body shop to have it sanded and painted, the body shop guy charged me $250 for the paint job. i know to some people it might seem stupid that i did all that work to save $100 or $200. but i know the repair on my bumper is very strong and i highly doubt it would break on that location again. my time invested was really for the piece of mind. ohh, i also made new mounting tabs for my foglights and they are now sitting very tight.. i rated this kit 5 stars because it exceeded my expectations and i would recommend it to any hobbyist or professional.. good luck, Hus.

Having been an autobody tech for 48+yrs.,I have tried several other plastic welders in our shop with some success.The mini-weld comes with case/filler rods for each type of plastic being repaired/instructional DVD/temperature control for each plastic.Even our youngest apprentice has had 100% success with this welder.
Good product-great price,very happy with this welder.Also bought one for my home use saving me 100’s of dollars on repairing a holding tank on my motorhome rather than replace.I highly recommend this welder!

Don’t buy the 2003 Universal Edition of this DVD. Instead, sift through the web and find the DVD released by Image Entertainment in 1998. Why? You’d be better off asking “what’s in a song?”
The latest version has omitted Willie Nelson’s “My Heroe’s Have Always Been Cowboys” in favor of some generic faux-Western instrumental. The song was played during the opening credits and when Sonny releases Rising Star into the wild. When I watched the new version (not knowing there was a new version), I was left emotionally flat by the experience, but I couldn’t figure out why. Finally, I dug up an old VHS version I’d taped off of cable several years ago and realized the change.
Call it song as metaphor, song as objective correlative…call it any theoretical term you need to. MAYBE it would not matter to a person who’d never seen the original. But I think it would (somehow). The song captures those two moments of the film — the song makes an emotional connection. The image and the sound, the joyful melancholy, all gel perfectly.
Why’d they change it? Who knows. The rest of Willie Nelson’s songs remain on the soundtrack. I tend to think that the dimwits in charge of “product” treat these films like, uh, product. The battle of art versus commerce rages on…
It matters. And I’m sick of the culture industry manipulating music and movies that have affected me.
“My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys” missing
Advantage over old Image DVD: solid 16×9 anamorphic transfer.
Disadvantage over old Image DVD: Willie Nelson song “My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys” has been removed from the opening and Rising Star’s final scene. It has been replaced with a less effective, generic-sounding piece of music.
“My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys” was in the theatrical release, in the ABC broadcast and on the Image DVD. I don’t know if the omission is due to a technical screwup (like Universal’s misframing of the “Back to the Future” sequels) or for rights issues (maybe AMPco had it removed), but the opening montage is much weaker without it. I hope the filmmakers are aware that this change has been made for this DVD release.
Charmingly enjoyable.
This is a movie I’ve pulled out many times when I’ve wanted to watch something light and carefree. Although it isn’t one of Redford’s best films (or even in his top 5…6…7…), it still has a certain something that’s hard for me to pin down. I don’t believe I would like it nearly as well if someone other than Redford had the starring role. Although Jane Fonda is very solid as the ambitious `pain-in-the-neck’ news reporter, and Willy Nelson is surprisingly good in his supporting role (better yet, two or three of his songs run throughout the movie), it’s Redford (and his boyish charm) that truly carries this film.
If you’ve never seen this Redford/Pollack vehicle, there are some excellent reviews that outline the basic plot (especially the November 18th review). If you’re looking for something to entertain you for a couple of hours, and aren’t expecting a film classic, this one will do just fine, and maybe even surprise you. Enjoy it for the horse, for the western countryside, for the romance, or just for the plain, light-hearted fun of it. Between 1 and 10, “The Electric Horseman” gets a solid 7.

When this picture came out in 1979, both Robert Redford and Jane Fonda were at the height of their stardom; in fact, this movie was so big, it took two studios (Columbia and Universal) to make it. Redford plays Sonny Steele, champion rodeo rider turned corporate spokesman (and perpetual drunk). When he discovers that another corporate asset, a racehorse, is just like him–dressed like a buffoon and doped up to the gills–he decides to liberate the animal. Redford’s grumpy, wise, and funny performance demonstrates why he was (and is) such a big star (and why director Sydney Pollack made seven movies with him). Fonda is fine as the bright, ambitious, frightened TV reporter whose pursuit of a story pitches her headlong into love. The ending may seem anticlimatic (the big comedy chase comes in the middle of the film), but this is much more a romance story than a chase film. From the beginning, there’s little doubt how the story will end (although even then, the movie throws us a little curve), but the movie compensates with sheer star power; Redford and Fonda are all that matter, and in this case they deliver, along with Willie Nelson’s fine performance in a pivotal supporting role. –Geof Miller

very appealing stories, plus bonus episodes with steve
For my now three year old, when Steve went away he was so sad that he didn’t really take to Joe. He had mostly watched re runs on noggin. And for nearly a year now, he did not like to watch Blue’s clues, because he know Steve has gone away or will leave. But after watching this episode, he was so excited to see Joe as a baby, and Steve as a young boy — exactly the age group that appeals to 3 to 4 year olds, and he watched with a 4 yr old friend, and both absolutely loved it. And, to my relief, its brought back his love of blue. And he is so thrilled to see those bonus episodes — “Steve is all grown up now! He’s a big boy!” that it has brought the concept of growing home to him like nothing else.
The cover episode is a lovely story line about how Blue puppy comes to join Steve. We buy all of these for the bonus Steve episodes which we already own on VHS 
Wish they would just go ahead and put the episodes on the Main Menu, instead of one level of “Bonus” indirection. Anyway, Joe or Steve, Blue’s Clue’s is so educational and appealing, its absolutely not to miss. This one has the Blue’s Big Holiday VHS episodes as bonus.
Best Blue’s Clues Episode Ever!
We bought this item as a pre-Christmas gift for our 3 1/2 year old son. We watched it during our family movie night. Our son loved the featured episode and loved seeing Joe as a baby.
It is a great story that details how Blue came to live with Steve as well as a telling of the first time they ever played Blue’s Clues. I would recommend this to anyone who knows a child that loves Blue’s Clues.
After watching the featured episode about 29 times, our son moved on to the other episodes…two are of the holidays and the last is about Joe’s birthday. He loves them all.

Great design, but fairly small for most photographers and not the best design for women
I pretty much have to agree with other reviews that talk about the small size of this bag. It’s definitely quite limited in what it can carry….but it does work for me in some situations. It *does* hold my Canon 40D with Tamron 18-270mm super-zoom attached along with my 540EX flash and a extra 50mm lens, so would be a reasonable bag for me to use on trips when I am not able to bring a selection of lenses with me. I am not a person that can carry much equipment with me in the field due to physical problems, so I really need a bag that is comfortable and can handle at least this amount of equipment. I do wish the interior dividers and velcro had a few more optional placements, you’re pretty restricted in how they can be placed.
You’ll find many, many interior compartments and stuff hidden away in this bag, including a nice rain cover for the camera on the inside, and for the entire bag on the outside. The tripod holder flap can be tucked inside, as well as the additional waist strap. There almost to me seem to be *too* many compartments. I don’t need so many that I end up having to remember where I put what item and unzipping a dozen pockets to find it. But I’m sure a lot of photo geeks loves that kind of thing.
While I do love the sling design in terms of it helping to relieve some of the weight that is so problematic for me, I do have to add that it’s not the easiest (or most flattering) thing for many women to wear, particularly if you are, umm, well-endowed shall we say. I basically have to either push the strap up in which case it is practically strangling me, or move it slightly down which umm, pushes other things UP. The second strap which is described as a “waist strap” actually comes up creating sort of an X in front, just making the whole thing look even worse (like a huge push-up bra worn on the outside). I’m not sure there’s really a good solution to this, but women might want to try one of these in a local camera store to see how much it bothers them before purchasing.
It’s a nice camera bag–if it’s large enough for your camera and gear
The LowePro Slingshot 102AW camera bag seems well constructed and very durable. It has one curved, padded shoulder strap so that you can carry it over your left shoulder. There is also a small nylon hand strap at the top of the bag for carrying the bag, but it is 1″ in width and is not padded. There are a number of pockets and compartments for carrying an array of items. You can also carry a tripod or mono-pod on the side of the bag.
The main issue may be whether the bag is large enough from your camera and gear. The main compartment has three subdividers that are held in place by velcro so that you can adjust the size of the subcompartments or remove the subdividers completely. The size of the main compartment is approximately 10″ wide, by 7″ (which would be the maximum distance from the back of your camera to the front end of your lense), to about 5″ in height at most (which would be the maximum height of a single lense standing up in one of the subcompartments. The flap for the main compartment has two small pockets for memory cards. There is a secondary compartment at the top of the bag that is 7″ wide at the bottom and narrows to 4 at the top, and about 4″ deep. There are a couple other smaller compartments on the bag also. And then within the compartments are smaller storage pockets.
The only thing that I didn’t care much for was a strap that crosses the zipper of the cover to the main compartment that has two Travato side release buckles. If you secure the strap with the 2 buckles, then you have to release the buckles to unzip the cover. Then when you want to zip the compartment up again, the buckles tend to fall across the zipper and you have to pick them up to zip the bag up.
It’s small: A Lowepro SlingShot 102 AW Review
The Lowepro SlingShot 102 AW rests on the back like a backpack, but with its single strap the case will swing around to the front for convenient access to its contents. The main compartment can hold a camera with the lens attached and has adjustable sections to hold a flash on one side and a second lens on the other. A secondary compartment can hold other items such as a cell phone, filters, or other needed items. A compact tripod or monopod hangs securely on the side, and straps are strategically placed on the exterior for hanging accessory components. Other pockets and compartments are found here and there to hold even more stuff.
The SlingShot is constructed with quality materials and plenty of padding to protect camera equipment. Thicker padding protects the back from feeling the equipment, ensuring comfort for the wearer. The pack’s organizational abilities and extras such as two memory card pockets placed conveniently in the main compartment, a pocketed microfiber lens cloth, and the bottom pocket’s all weather shield are a nice touch. Clearly, Lowepro’s developers set out to create a convenient storage solution for the photographer on the go.
Swinging the SlingShot from back to front requires unhooking the waist strap. Once swung around to the front, most pockets and zipper openings face upwards, although the secondary compartment opens from top to bottom making this section more difficult to access in this state. The compact tripod or monopod is attached to the bottom of the bag. Removing a tripod feels natural, but reattaching requires some finagling.
The adjustable sections in the main compartment attach using Velcro on all edges next to the inner sides. Wide Velcro strips in the bag allow for adjusting depth, but the padded sides do not forcing the use of Lowepro’s basic configuration. While it’s a good configuration, this bag is too small to use with my equipment. My Canon 580EX flash barely fits in the designated area, as it’s taller than the depth of the inner compartment. I can fit my Canon 7D with 24-105mm lens attached, but the lens’s width pushes the padded sides into the other compartment’s space preventing storage in those sections. I can remove all the sections creating one large compartment, but then I have no internal padding to protect my equipment. Had I been able to reconfigure the main compartment, I might have been able to come up with something useful.
Lowepro created a convenient storage solution for street photographers and those on the go. Unfortunately, they chose to make the 102 too small for many to use. While I own expensive lenses which tend to be larger than the less expensive options, this bag should be able to comfortably hold a common flash. This may be a good option for photographers with smaller lenses and equipment; however the SlingShot 102 will be too small for most.
